"In 2005 I was delighted to be asked to do a Master class with Paul and his students. The respect he commanded then was electrifying to watch as he delivered his tuition direct and from the heart he wears so passionately on his sleeve.
Having grown up together in Shannon during the 70's we both remember how hard it was to get a break in music but we persevered through our love of it. Mine took me on the road of live performance and studio recording with Horslips and many other musicians. Paul's through staying here teaching and building a solid foundation to support the growth and development of local young musicians, a home for music lovers. I think you've found it my friend”.
"I am delighted to finally get a chance to acknowledge in some way the contribution that Paul O’ Donoghue makes to the lives of young people who want to learn to play the guitar. Paul has a passion for guitar and for music in general and as he says himself during his classes in Southill Music Project “I was put on this earth to infect people with the love of guitar and to teach them how to play”. He does this extremely well.
As a Youth Worker I want young people to enjoy every experience and when I asked Paul to tutor the first group of young people to learn guitar in the project I knew that they would enjoy every minute of it. Paul makes learning to play the guitar fun, he has great time for all his students and what’s even more important he makes it simple. I want to endorse everything that Paul has done and wish him and his company all the very best in the future. Thanks for everything." Cathal Dillon - Youth Worker, Southill Area Centre. www.southillareacentre.ie “Paul is a brilliant teacher, totally dedicated, superbly organized constantly striving to improve the children and his love of music and the teaching of it. We are very lucky to have him”. Ger Loughnane - Principal, St Aidan's School, Shannon staidansshannon.ie "Paul O’ Donoghue has been involved in voluntary work with the Clare Youth Service since 2007. He has to date run a successful 15 week summer school each year (2007, 2008, 2009) in conjunction with the Shannon Music Project
Feedback from the young people who completed the lessons has always been so positive: the tuition has helped them to hone their musical skills while also developing their social skills through the medium of music." Róisín O’ Connor - Clare Youth Service clareyouthservice.org "Paul O’ Donoghue has been assisting Junior and Leaving Certificate Students with their Music Practical Exams at St. Caimin’s Community School, since 2003. Learning recently that Paul is intending setting up his own Guitar tuition business here in Shannon has given us here at St. Caimin’s great hope for the future of our students musical educational development."
