Delighted to hear that Lauren-Kate Browne (Hero's Guitar School Class of 2010) has reached the finals of this years Limerick's Got Talent. Lauren, always the first to say yes if asked to take part in any local music events that Hero's have been involved with over the last 3 years and always one to put on a polished performance with her own stamp on which ever piece she chose to delight us with. The apple does not fall far from the tree and I am delighted to say that students from the class of 2011, 12 and now even 13 all know who Lauren is. What a yard stick we have been left with here at Hero's to show our students what is possible if you just; Practice, Practice, Practice. Well done Lauren, so proud of you. Swive, xu

Lauren-Kate Browne one of the stars of this year’s showcase of Shannon talent, held in the Oakwood Arms in March, was delighted to reach the finals of Limerick’s Got Talent.
The finals of the competition, now in its fourth year, were held in the Lime Tree Theatre, at Mary Immaculate College on August 23rd and doubled as a fundraiser for the local Multiple Sclerosis Society. In all there were over forty contestants including singers, comedians and dancers. 16-year-old Lauren-Kate was thrilled to be called up for the final.
On the night Lauren-Kate played guitar and sang Let Her Go from the hit album All the Little Lights by folk-rock band Passenger. The song went down well with the judges and the audience and Lauren-Kate was awarded a medal of her rendition.
Organizers of this year’s event had anticipated a bigger and better contest than before and they were not disappointed. According to one of the organisers Mike O’Connor, “The objective of our shows unlike many other professional outfits is to promote the hidden talent that exists in the region and give them a positive platform to encourage them to continue with musical studies and develop at their own pace”.
This year’s competition featured an overall winner and five other prize winning categories consisting of Best Dance act, Best Band, Best Vocalist, Best Variety act & Best Original Song.
Lauren-Kate entered in two categories, as a solo vocalist and with the dance troupe Flawless, a previous winner of the competition. Overall winner was singer Kelly Brosnan a 21-year-old from Ballyclough, Limerick whose prize includes a professional promotional video produced by Eiremedia.
In all there were three heats involving 41 acts. A five-strong judging panel selected three acts from each category to qualify for the final.
